Supervision approach

• As a supervisor my responsibility is the safety and welfare of the candidate and the client/s. I need to be able to give feedback to the candidate on expectations and progress, and be accessible to the client. I also have a responsibility to be a great professional role model. I also see my overall role is to provide a quality assurance to the supervision process.
• The TSP’s role/responsibility is to abide by professional standards/code of conduct, to have a critical approach to their own strengths and weaknesses, and to foster an open and honest approach to supervisory discussions.

Further information

My aims are to:
Create a safe space for the supervisee to express doubt and vulnerability
Always reinforce personal health/care is more important than work
Show I care about the supervisee as a person
