Working in elite sporting environments to support the development of the person and performer. The majority of my applied experiences have been with Premier League (category 1) football academies. I have worked at an individual level; supporting the holistic development of players as they transition into the 1st team squad, as well as at an organisational level; supporting staff to create a psychologically informed environment. My businesses have allowed me to work with a variety of people and sports, including Olympic athletes and businesses. My role as Senior Lecturer in Sport and Exercise Psychology at Liverpool John Moores University has given me the opportunity to produce and publish research that focuses on bridging the gap between theory and practice.

Supervision approach

Authentic, supportive, honest, and challenging. My approach to supervision will focus on supporting your development as both a person and a practitioner. I will help you navigate the personal and professional challenges associated with becoming a Sport and Exercise Psychologist by: encouraging and facilitating self-reflection, developing your self-knowledge and self-awareness, sharing my own personal experiences and stories, and helping you develop your own philosophy of practice that is congruent to your own unique professional identity. You will be supported in one-to-one sessions and through group based activities. All my SEPAR candidates will be added to a supervision group, where you will be supported by myself and have access to other SEPAR candidates, which will allow you to share knowledge and experiences with each other. I aim to build strong professional relationships with my SEPAR candidates, which will contribute towards your on-going development.

Further information

There may be opportunities to enhance your applied practice through supporting me in my roles at the University and by working with me through my businesses.
