Supervision approach

My approach to supervision is through providing organizational and discipline-specific support through the process. I aim to support the supervisee in developing process/interim goals to facilitate their development in line with the timescale of SE (i.e., ~2 years) to ensure that they can meet the competencies outlined by BASES within this period. Having worked in professional sport and academia, I can provide well-balanced insight/support around the ‘fast-paced’, pragmatic decision making that is necessary when working within an applied setting; and the need to integrate research derived theory to practice. My experience in research puts me in a strong position to support supervisees around the understanding and use of research in practice, and I have supported several applicants through to publishing their own research that relates to their practice.
