About

The Sport and Exercise Science courses at The University of Huddersfield aim to provide the tools to optimise sport performance (Sport Science) and to promote a healthy and active lifestyle (Exercise Science). They involve four main areas of study: physiology, psychology, biomechanics and nutrition.

Physiology examines how the body responds and adapts to exercise. Psychology considers cognitive and behavioural processes in relation to sport and exercise. Biomechanics concerns the application of laws and principles of physics to human biological systems. Sports nutrition examines the specific nutritional needs for performance and health.

The courses are delivered by researchers and practitioners in the field of sport and exercise science, including BASES Accredited Sport and Exercise Scientists.

The courses are also Endorsed by SkillsActive meaning additional industry qualifications, such as the Personal Trainer Award, can be embedded into the degree.
