With over 11,000 students, Solent provides a global network of sport and exercise science industry contacts and an innovative blend of specialised knowledge and real-world experience. The courses are underpinned by a diverse range of research clusters whose activities lead to important developments and sharing of knowledge with key stakeholders in the sport science and coaching industry. Within the sport and exercise science research cluster we have staff currently researching topics including low back pain, evaluations of health promotion initiatives for the NHS, fitness assessment in professional football and attitude in sport to name but a few. Solent boasts an array of state-of-the-art facilities, BASES accredited sport science laboratories and the most extensive National Governing Body coach education programme in English higher education. We've been in the National Student Survey's top three UK sport science courses for overall student satisfaction for three years running (2011, 2012, 2013).
