About
The department of sport and physical activity consists of an enthusiastic and experienced team that offer a portfolio of specialised undergraduate degree programmes including sport and exercise science, sports therapy, coaching, physical education, sports development and sports studies. Programmes largely share a common first year that permits some transfer between programmes to reflect developing interests. The ethos of the programmes is to combine academic study and hands-on learning experiences alongside developing personal and professional skills and identifying career opportunities. The programmes are supported by excellent facilities including the sporting edge complex which comprises a fitness centre, tennis courts, multicourts, swimming pool, gymnasium, athletics track, grass pitches and sports centre and the Wilson centre which includes specialist laboratories for the sports sciences, dance studio and range of modern teaching rooms. Student feedback suggests the campus environment, excellent facilities and vocationally orientated programmes are reasons why students should come to Edge Hill.
