About

The Department of Sport and Exercise Science at Aberystwyth University delivers undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in Sport and Exercise Science and Exercise and Health Research. The Department has a strong research programme and provides consultancy services to individuals and organisations in Wales and the rest of the U.K.

The Department is based in the Carwyn James Building, a purpose built facility which houses 18 specialist laboratories and seminar rooms providing state-of-the-art facilities for physiological, psychological and biomechanical research and teaching. The Guardian University Guide in 2012, ranked sport and exercise science at Aberystwyth third in the U.K. and top in Wales. The British Association of Sport and Exercise Sciences Annual Student Conference was hosted by the Department in 2005 and 2010.

In the 2008 Research Assessment Exercise 65% of the Department's submissions were recognised internationally and 15% as internationally excellent.
