Course description

The School of Sport and Service Management has a student-friendly coastal setting. The School traces its history back to 1898 and has contributed to the development of sport and exercise ever since. The Sport and Exercise Science programme was one of the very first in the UK and has been running for over 25 years. Students benefit from an established and refined curriculum, with extensive use of laboratory based learning, as part of a philosophy which highlights the application of theory and research, thereby providing opportunities to turn a passion for sport into a profession. During the course, students may specialise to graduate with one of three named honours degree titles: Sport Science, Exercise and Health Science or Sport and Exercise Science. In addition, students planning to take a PGCE may apply to devolve from the main Sport and Exercise Science programme after year one to study Sport and Exercise Science with PE.
