Course Description

If you aspire to change your community and the world through sport, science and research then this is the degree for you. This course is centred around 3 core areas of sport science: physiology, biomechanics and psychology. You will learn how these specialisms interact to keep athletes healthy and performing at their best. You will gain both the academic knowledge and the practical skills you need for your career. You will learn how to improve performance at the highest levels in elite sport but also how to improve the health of individuals and communities through exercise. This includes examining the impact physical activity can have on preventing heart disease, obesity, dementia and depression. The programme is accredited by the British Association of Sport and Exercise Scientists (BASES).
