Opportunity to take part in a research project on athlete support personnel and ‘clean sport’
24th March 2021
We have been made aware by Dr Laurie Patterson, Senior Lecturer in Sport and Exercise Psychology at Leeds Beckett University, Carnegie Faculty, School of Sport that researchers at three universities in the UK (Leeds Beckett, Birmingham and Kingston) are currently working on a project for UK Anti-Doping (UKAD) to find out about athlete support personnel (e.g., sport and exercise scientists, medical staff, management) roles in clean sport.
More
specifically, the team are trying to learn if different groups of athlete
support personnel take actions in their everyday practice to support clean
sport, and what factors influence those actions (e.g., knowledge, assigned the
task by a superior, etc). The research team are also asking athlete support
personnel about their experiences with clean sport education, and any
preferences they have for learning opportunities in the future.
If you are currently working as ‘athlete support
personnel’ in Olympic, Paralympic and/or Professional sport in the UK, you can
access the online survey here. On
average, it will take approximately 20-25 minutes to complete.
If you have any questions about the project, please
contact the Project Lead directly: L.Patterson@leedsbeckett.ac.uk
or 0113 812 4007, who will be able to provide further information.
Please note that participation in the project is
entirely voluntary, and the findings will be anonymous and confidential. UKAD
will not have access to raw data.
Thank you.
