As part of the plans to expand the breadth of content at BASES Conference 2020 (at the King Power Stadium, Leicester on 17-18 November) and enable greater input from the membership, we are inviting BASES professional and overseas members to submit proposals for invited parallel sessions.

This year, up to two parallel invited sessions in the BASES Conference 2020 programme will be from proposals submitted by members. Parallel invited sessions will be either invited lectures (one presenter) or invited symposia (two presenters). Sessions with more than one presenter should aim to cover both the fundamental science and high quality applied work. All applications for invited symposia should demonstrate the potential to provoke good discussion with BASES delegates.

All submissions will be considered by the BASES Scientific Programme Committee, who will select the successful proposals on the basis of topicality and interest to members. The lead presenter must be a professional member of BASES and must be available to present at the BASES Conference on either 17 or 18 November 2020.

BASES will cover the delegate fees for the BASES Conference (two-day non-residential package) and the Conference Gala Dinner for up to two presenters (per session).

BASES welcomes proposals across all sport and exercise disciplines. Proposals are particularly welcomed that involve fundamental research and/or applied practice of an inter-disciplinary and/or collaborative nature. This is an excellent opportunity to deliver your research and share insight with a wide audience of peers at the BASES flagship CPD event.

To submit your proposal please complete the proposal form   and email it to officemanager@bases.org.uk. The deadline for submitting proposals is 5 pm on Friday 14 February.

Please note: BASES will be inviting abstract submissions for free communication presentations and poster presentations for BASES Conference 2020 as normal from 1 April 2020.

Deadline dates for abstract submissions are as follows:

Friday 15 May: Free communications

Friday 12 June: Poster presentations and 5 slides in 5 minutes free communications
