International Sport and Exercise Science Industry Survey
30th March 2022
BASES is one of the founding members of the International Confederation of Sport and Exercise Science Practice (ICSESP) which was established in 2020 by the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM), the British Association of Sport and Exercise Sciences (BASES), the Canadian Society for Exercise Physiology (CSEP), Exercise and Sports Science Australia (ESSA) and Sport and Exercise Science New Zealand (SESNZ) in recognition of the positive benefits of global strategic connection. Dr Keith Tolfrey FBASES is the BASES representative on the ICSESP Board.
The Confederation is committed to positively impacting individuals, communities, and countries by advancing the international practice of the sport and exercise sciences. It is hoped to expand membership of the Confederation to more national representative bodies and individuals from across the globe over the next few years.
To help inform a globally representative strategy and to build the membership base, the ICSESP Board is keen to understand more from those who work in sport and exercise science across the globe. We would appreciate BASES members spending no more than 10 minutes to complete this anonymous survey, the link of which is here.
It would also be appreciated if you could use your social media contacts to reach people working in sport and exercise science globally. The ICSESP Board is particularly keen to reach sport and exercise scientists working in countries where they may not have a support structure akin to the founding members cited above.
Once the survey closes, a report will be produced, which the ICSESP Board will consider in relation to prioritising key projects and development work over the next few years, and it is anticipated that these results will be disseminated through conference presentations and a journal publication.
We do hope you can spare a few minutes to complete the survey and to pass on the survey link to other practitioners, for them to complete.
