Celebrating Volunteers’ Week 2024 – BASES Volunteer of the Year
31st May 2024
Following the success of the inaugural Volunteer of the Year Award in 2023, BASES will continue, in 2024, to recognise all of the hard work and dedication that BASES receives from all the volunteers working on behalf of the Association. We understand that many members devote much time and energy to their role and are not seeking recognition. However, BASES would not be where it is, were it not for this contribution. As such, we would like to show our appreciation, and to commit to recognising members who contribute in the future.
The Award will be launched on 3 June 2024 at the start of Volunteers' Week 2024, which is an annual celebration of the millions of people who volunteer throughout the UK and runs 3 to 9 June 2024.
Members can nominate BASES members in the following categories:

Why should you take the time to nominate a BASES member? BASES Volunteer of the Year 2023 - Dr Andy Smith MBE, FBASES said, “I was honoured to be recognised as the BASES Volunteer of the Year in 2023. It meant a lot to me that someone took the time to nominate me, and that the Association acknowledged my contribution. As BASES is built and sustained on voluntary effort, can I encourage colleagues to nominate those who they think have gone the extra mile to make things happen for the profession and scientific discipline.”
