BASES commitment to Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI)
By promoting equality, diversity and inclusion, BASES will create greater opportunity for any individual to fulfil their science- and practice-based potential, irrespective of their background or circumstances. In so doing it will also help to better serve society by attracting the widest possible talent to the sport and exercise science workforce and fostering a greater diversity of scientific ideas, research, practice and technology.
BASES is committed to widening participation in science education, practice, and the workplace. To this end, the Board of BASES has agreed to establish a new Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Committee and will soon appoint a Board Diversity Champion.
We are actively seeking interest from BASES members to apply to become a member of the new EDI Committee.
