BASES to collaborate with Leaders in Sport

18th January 2024

BASES is pleased to announce a collaboration with Leaders in Sport to develop a series of three virtual round table events. Leaders in Sport has significant reach within the high-performance community and aims to connect the most influential people in sport to the most powerful ideas through a series of global events, topic-led communities, and cutting-edge intelligence. They approached BASES to collaborate in the development of a series of CPD events. The BASES Sport and Performance Division have pulled together an expert group with input from the UK Sports Institute (UKSI), the Premier League, the International Society of Performance Analysis of Sport (ISPAS) and BASES’s Performance Analysis Special Interest Group and are in the planning stages of three events to be held in August, September and October 2024. The events will explore advances in performance analysis and the influence of these advances on multi-disciplinary performance teams and wider organisational operations. In development BASES partners - ISPAS, UKIS & the Premier League - the series will bring insights from the latest developments in elite sport and how they are providing impact for a range of stakeholders. These events are targeted at leaders and practitioners within high performance environments and will be available for free for appropriate BASES members to attend. Further information about the events and how to reserve a place will be shared in due course.

Commenting on the collaboration, Dr Ibrahim Akubat FBASES, Chair of the BASES Sport and Performance Division said: ‘BASES is delighted to be working with Leaders in Sport to provide CPD with latest insights and thinkers. It will also serve as a networking opportunity for BASES members and the wider high-performance community. This is recognition of the status, quality and ambition of the BASES membership.'

Leaders in Sport’s Director of Membership, Oliver Escritt, said, “'Our aim is to provide a platform for our members to be able to access the most powerful knowledge that supports better performance outcomes. We're therefore delighted to partner with BASES and be able to provide a series of learning, which leverages the unique knowledge, network, and insight of both organisations.'”.
