BASES Laboratory Visits

10th February 2021

The COVID-19 pandemic has been very challenging for more many people and normal operations have been substantially affected, particularly those activities that rely heavily on visual inspection of premises and activities in these premises. Laboratory accreditation is one such activity and the Association is very mindful that those preparing for accreditation, visits, pre-inspection visits and re-accreditation has halted. Those who are already accredited will have their existing accreditation extended until such time a visit can be arranged. Those that have applications that have recently been submitted will have their visit arranged as soon as it is deemed safe to travel by the accrediting visitor (they will be in touch at the suitable time). Those wishing to apply for new accreditation are advised to hold onto their applications for submission until BASES notify them that laboratory accreditation can re-start. BASES will inform the membership when accreditation visits are possible. If you have any questions, please contact Jane Bairstow (officemanager@bases.org.uk) who will direct your enquiry to the Chair of the Lab Accreditation Review Group.
