BASES HE Endorsement Scheme Advisory Group: Expression of Interest
3rd October 2024
We are currently recruiting for six individuals to join the BASES HE Endorsement Scheme Advisory Group. Appointments will be for three years in the first instance, with an expectation to meet (online) five times a year and attend one face-to-face day event. You will be required to review BASES Undergraduate Endorsement Scheme (BUES) and/or BASES Postgraduate Endorsement Scheme (BPGES) applications, support the development of key strategic areas and report this back to the wider advisory group.
We would expect individuals to hold SFHEA status or above, with the following experiences:
• Degree validation / course leadership (at either UG or PG level)
• Either leading or supporting a BUES submission from their institution
• External examiner / advisor
• Evidence of commitment to learning and teaching practices within BASES or similar professional bodies
The Advisory Group’s terms of reference can be found here.
The appointment of the above roles will be via a formal, open and transparent recruitment process, with the aim of attracting the widest range of the most suitable talent. At BASES, we are committed to Fairness, Professionalism, Honesty, Responsibility and Excellence. We strive to improve our ways of working to be more inclusive and diverse, to accelerate our impact on society and live up to our Values. We acknowledge that we lack representation from various underrepresented groups and therefore strongly encourage applications that will amplify the voices of people with a disability, those from culturally and ethnically diverse backgrounds, women or gender diverse people in STEMM and members of the LGBTQIA+ community. Please notify the Chief Executive Officer (iwilson@bases.org.uk) if you require reasonable adjustments throughout the recruitment process.
Please submit an expression of interest, highlighting how your experiences make you suitable for this role (in no more than 500 words) to BASES CEO (iwilson@bases.org.uk), by noon on Wednesday 30 October 2024. Please mark this email as confidential and within the subject header, please add ‘HE Endorsement Scheme Advisory Group application’. If you would like to have an informal conversation about the role prior to applying, please contact either co-chair Dr Ian Sadler (i.sadler@ljmu.ac.uk) or Dr Mat Timmis (Matthew.timmis@aru.ac.uk).
