Anglia Ruskin University confirmed as BASES Student Conference 2023 hosts

17th March 2022

BASES Student Conference 2023 will be hosted by Anglia Ruskin University, on their Cambridge campus, on 24-25 April 2023. 2023 marks the centenary of the publication of A.V. Hill’s seminal work on VO2max, which was undertaken in the city of Cambridge. The conference will be themed around this and other historical perspectives informing contemporary Sport & Exercise Sciences, whilst also celebrating the innovative research and applied practices students are engaged with and are shaping the future of our discipline.

The excellent and well-thought application impressed the BASES Board who liked the main theme of the application and the simultaneous virtual conference option. Making the online sessions available post-event was also viewed as a positive initiative.

Commenting on accepting the confirmation, Dr Matthew Timmis, Co-Chair of the Organising Committee said, "The Sport & Exercise Sciences Team here at ARU are excited to welcome the BASES student community and have the opportunity to showcase our beautiful city of Cambridge."
