Employer: Leeds Trinity University

Salary: 33,797.00 per annum pro rata

Contract Type: Part-time Permanent

Full Description:

Commencement date August 2020 or as soon as possible thereafter.

We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic, collaborative, high performing member of staff to contribute to our programmes in SHAPE (Sport, Health and Physical Education). Leeds Trinity University is a modern university with an emerging research culture. The University is well resourced and has a significant reputation for high-quality teaching and student experience.

In order to support students from a range of undergraduate programmes, especially relating to sports coaching, physical education and school sport, this role will focus on teaching, assessing and developing a range of associated modules and to engage in professional development (research, knowledge exchange and/or professional practice) relevant to these areas of the curriculum.

In particular, we are seeking someone with relevant experience and qualifications of working in a range of sport and/or school coaching settings to complement their academic credentials who can thus support students in theory-based, practical and applied areas of the curriculum, as well as providing pastoral and dissertation support. Ability to contribute to performance analysis and monitoring would be an advantage. Prior experience of online teaching and assessing in higher education would also be an advantage, as would experience of relevant research, knowledge exchange and/or other professional practice activity.

Hours of work will be 17.5 hours per week and working days to be agreed with the line manager.

Employees of the University have access to a wide range of benefits including our generous contributory pension schemes, excellent holiday entitlements, on-site sport and fitness centre membership, car park permit scheme and Employee Assistance Programme. We also operate a free shuttle bus to Horsforth station and have an externally owned day nursery facility on campus, along with plenty of shopping, leisure and travel discounts available. Our health and wellbeing offer provides the opportunity to engage in a variety of activities and includes high quality health articles relating to current national and University specific initiatives.
