The Football Association (The FA) is the governing body of football in England. We are responsible for promoting and developing the game at all levels; from grass roots through to the professional game, The FA Cup and the England International teams, and has two core assets: Wembley Stadium and St George's Park. 

To deliver against our goal we have reallocated resources and invested heavily in developing a team of exceptional people capable of creating winning England teams at our world-class training facilities at St George's Park in Staffordshire. 

This is a unique and exciting time to join The FA and the Technical Team will be integral to the organisation achieving its goals. 

Role Description: 

As the Head of Para Performance, you will lead the continued development and delivery of a high performance strategy for the England Para teams which aims to create a healthy sustainable player centred performance culture inspiring success and promoting equality, diversity and inclusion. You will have a strong leadership presence that ensures world class coaching and support services are delivered to all England Para teams to maximise team performance. 

Key Accountabilities: 

Lead the development and implementation of a high-performance strategy for the male and female England Para teams, in line with ‘Football your Way' – The FA's Gameplan for Disability football. 

Lead the delivery of aligned and integrated performance support services, which maximise impact, cover all aspects of a player's development and ensure best practice standards for player health, wellbeing and safeguarding. 

Lead and manage the Para SLT in the delivery of world-class coaching and support services to male and female England Para teams. 

Develop and maintain the creation of a heathy player-centred performance culture that promotes equality, diversity and inclusion and delivers sustainable success for male and female England Para teams. 

Ensure best practice approaches to athlete selection / de-selection and classification across male and female England Para teams. 

Oversee and manage Para budgets, identifying external funding and investment to aid the development and retention of an elite teams workforce.

Develop and maintain strong collaborative relationships with key internal and external stakeholders and partners, including international federations, national leagues, funding agencies, partners, sponsors. 

Work with the British Paralympic Association, Great Britain Disability Football Association and FA departments to ensure participation and success at future Paralympics, World Championships and European Championships in identified disciplines. 

Execute additional tasks as required in order to meet FA Group changing priorities. 

What we are looking for: 


Experience of leading and developing high performance sports programmmes and international level teams within the disability sport environment. 

Strong track record of leading a team and working through others to deliver results. 

Proven experience of leading a multi-disciplinary team in an elite sport environment. 

Proven experience of establishing strong relationships with key stakeholders and partners. 

Experience of creating and maintaining a positive and thriving performance culture. 

Knowledge and experience of delivering Sport England funded programmes. 

Commitment to sports equality and knowledge of barriers facing under re-presented groups. 

Understanding of world class standards in high performance sports environments. 


Knowledge of Paralympic Programmes. 

Understanding of the challenges associated with running disability football clubs and leagues. 

Comprehensive knowledge of disability football structures in England.
