Job Title: Academy Sport Scientist / Physical Coach
Reporting to: Head of Academy Performance & Preparation
Location: The Hummel Training Centre
Employment Status: Permanent, Full time
Salary: Dependent upon experience

Purpose of the role
We are currently seeking a unique and motivated Sports Scientist/S&C Coach to join the Performance Team based at The Hummel Training Centre, reporting to the Head of Academy Performance and Preparation.

Overview of Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities
The main responsibilities of the role will include:
• assisting and supporting both the Reserve and under 18s squads
• leading the physical development strategies for the 11-16 squads
• regular communication with players and coaching staff in the delivery of the academy physical development programme
• co-ordinating and conducting age appropriate on-field and gym based training sessions
• implementation of performance testing and associated interpretation and reporting of results
• research and development to improve player performance and advising coaches and athletes on physical performance issues.

Personal Specification
The successful candidate will have a BSc (Hons) in a Sports Science discipline as well an MSc or working towards this. An S&C related qualification or working towards this (UKSCA/NSCA) is also desirable. Previous experience in coordinating multi-disciplinary athlete development plans would be highly advantageous. Knowledge of GPS and heart-rate technology to maximise development and performance is desirable. Database management is also a key part of the role and experience in this would be beneficial.

The ideal candidate will be an organised, dependable individual who has the ability to work as part of a team and with limited supervision, to make decisions and work on their own initiative. Communication skills as well as I.T literacy (Office and Access) are crucial for this role.
