The SES is the official publication
of the British Association of Sport and Exercise Sciences (BASES). BASES
is the UK professional body for all those with an interest in the
science of sport and exercise and is committed to lifelong learning and
continuous professional development for the benefit of its members, the
profession and end-users. BASES’ mission is “Promoting Excellence in Sport
and Exercise Sciences”. The publication is a resource that readers will
value and refer back to. The SES welcomes advertising as
a means of keeping sport and exercise scientists informed about relevant
products, services and courses.
The SES is an excellent advertising vehicle for companies
and organisations wishing to reach those with an interest in sport and
exercise sciences. The publication reaches approximately 2,500 BASES
members and complimentary copies are provided to approximately
100 institutions offering sport and exercise science related courses.
Specific readership groups include decision makers, budget holders, laboratory
directors, practitioners, lecturers, researchers, undergraduate and postgraduate
students, amongst others.
The SES accepts advertising from companies and organisations
whose products, services or activities are of interest to sport and exercise
scientists, and whose missions and business interests do not conflict
or compete with those of BASES, its members, the profession of sport and
exercise sciences and associated professions. Adverts need to conform
to British
Code of Advertising, Sales Promotion and Direct Marketing. Adverts
should be legal, decent, honest and truthful and should be prepared with
a sense of responsibility to consumers and to society. Advertisers are
not allowed to state in any subsequent advertising or promotional piece
that their product or service has been advertised in The SES.
The SES reserves the right to refuse or cancel advertisements
at its sole discretion for any product or service submitted for publication
without reason, or notice.
