What’s Involved in Being a BASES University Student
Representative?
- Liaising closely with the BASES Network Representative at your University
- within each University there should be a BASES Network Contact (typically
a lecturer) whose role is to promote and publicise BASES and BASES’
activities
- Establishing a BASES’ student group at each network – offering in-house
workshops, organised presentations, contributed to the overall ideas
and structure of BASES, etc
- Making use of the BASES PowerPoint presentation to introduce students
to BASES and highlighting the many benefits of membership
- Establishing a BASES’ departmental notice-boards, displaying publicity
material and up-to-date BASES news and information
- Drawing attention towards the BASES’ website (http://www.bases.org.uk)
- Promoting the student conference and encouraging students to attend
and to present at the conference
- Promoting the BASES’ workshop programme, supervised experience and
accreditation programmes.

If BASES is to become a household name as the organisation responsible
for promoting sport and exercise sciences in the UK, we must continue
to improve both our promotion of BASES at university level and our recruitment
of student members. For more information, contact the Student Advisory
Group.
If you wish to volunteer to become a BASES University Student Rep, then
please contact Jane
Gillott with your University and contact details (address, daytime
phone number and e-mail).
