Two New Membership Categories

Two New Membership Categories
The Strategic Management Team has introduced two new membership categories. The aim of the first new category, Graduate Membership is to help retain student members, who on graduation become eligible for Professional Membership. The second new category, Retired Membership, is to enable long-standing retired members to continue to enjoy the benefits of membership.

Graduate Membership is open for one year to those Students Members who have graduated and are eligible for Professional Membership. Graduate Members pay a reduced membership fee for a year from the day on which s/he became eligible for Professional Membership. For example, a Student Member graduating in July 2007 is eligible for Graduate Membership until July 2008. When membership is renewal after July 2008, then they become a Professional Member.

Retired Membership is open to those Professional Members who have retired from all gainful employment. Retired members will not pay any subscription fees during retirement and are able to continue to enjoy their Association benefits at no extra cost. To be eligible for free membership, members will usually have reached the retirement age of 65 and have been a Professional Member of BASES for 10 successive years. Members who retire from gainful employment before the statutory retirement age will need to provide evidence that their sole source of income is a pension (e.g., copy of most recent tax return).
