Following feedback from BASES members, Towergate Professional Risks has negotiated a significant cost saving for Professional Liability insurance. The scheme with BASES has been in place for a number of years. However, the new management team at Towergate has challenged the insurers to reduce their rates considerably. The rates were previously much higher, due to the fact that BASES members may work with professional sportsmen and women. Over the years the scheme has run, the low level of claims have proved that the activities carried out by BASES members are, in essence, no more risky than those carried out by a psychologist or a counsellor. The premium for £2m cover was previously £174.85 but have now been reduced to £104.92 (both figures include Insurance Premium Tax and a £20 administration fee) – a saving of nearly £70. The lower rates apply with immediate effect to both new and existing clients, so if you already insure through Towergate you need do nothing and will benefit from the savings from your next renewal.
