BASES HIGH PERFORMANCE SPORT ACCREDITATION (HPSA)

BASES High Performance Sport Accreditation

First Successful Applicants for BASES HPSA…

The BASES High Performance Scheme has been launched. HPSA is a specialist route to BASES accreditation for those individuals providing sport science services to high performance sport programmes. It is targeted at those with extensive experience and a track record of providing successful, structured and ongoing scientific support to high performance athletes.

To pilot the scheme BASES, UK Sport and the Home Country Sports Institutes nominated individuals that they thought had the appropriate experience for the scheme. Those individuals attended two workshops throughout the Summer and pilot tested the scheme. The HPSA scheme has evolved from the pilot World Class Guarantee Accreditation Scheme (WCGAS) that was developed by BASES and the UKSI. Individuals that successfully completed the pilot of the WCGAS are now High Performance Sport Accredited. The scheme was financially supported by UK Sport.
