2006 BASES Network Representative Day

"Do you know why the Sport and Exercise students at your institution become BASES members or how many students are members at your institution?" In response to these questions the Strategic Management Team planned a Network Representative Day. This provided the perfect opportunity to get together to gain valuable feedback, share great ideas and pick up new BASES resources. The day was led by Dr Claire Hitchings (nee Palmer) and was well attended by institutions across the UK. Overall the day was hugely successful and has provided the Strategic Management Team and the Student Advisory Group with some great ideas.

Attendees reviewed the current membership benefits offered to students, and have suggested running another student event in addition to the already popular BASES Annual Student Conference. In terms of resources, the Network Reps received new glossy posters advertising BASES and the 2007 Annual Student Conference in Chichester, as well as new membership forms for their BASES notice board. Network Reps also collected their free BASES t-shirt to promote BASES about campus. In terms of presenting the benefits to students, a new presentation was reviewed, and has since been updated, for Network Reps to utilise (this can be found on the BASES website under BASES Documents).
