Physical Activity of Health Division Student
Representative - This individual sits on two committees - the Division
of Physical Activity for Health (normally meets not less than five times
per year) and the Student Advisory Group (normally meets once or twice
per year). The role is to represent the interests of Physical Activity
for Health students.
Sport and Performance Division Chair - This individual will lead
the Division, be a member of the Board which meets monthly and meet with
the Division normally not less than five times per year. The role is to
provide leadership to the rest of the Division and provide a forum for
sport scientists and is devoted to furthering the development of sport
science, both as a body of knowledge and skills and as a profession.
Sport and Performance Division Workshop Representative
- This individual sits on two committees - the Division of Sport and Performance
(normally meets not less than five times per year) and the Workshop Committee
(normally meets twice per year). The role is to organise a programme of
high quality education workshops in sport and performance.
Sport and Performance Division Research Representative - This individual
sits on the Division of Sport and Performance (normally meets not less
than five times per year). The role is to promote research in sport and
performance.
Sport and Performance Division Student Representative - This individual
sits on two committees - the Division of Sport and Performance (normally
meets not less than five times per year) and the Student Advisory Group
(normally meets once or twice per year). The role is to represent the
interests of sport and performance students (Sport and Performance).
Education and Professional Development Division
Workshop Representative - This individual sits on two committees -
the Division of Education and Professional Development (normally meets
not less than five times per year) and the Workshop Committee (normally
meets twice per year). The role is to organise a programme of high quality
education workshops in Education and Professional Development.
Psychology Accreditation Review Committee Representative - This
individual sits on the Accreditation Committee (normally meets twice per
year), which manages the BASES Accreditation and international travel
grant award schemes.
What's involved?
- Detailed information about the roles and responsibilities
for each position are in the
Terms
of Reference. The term of offices are for 2 years.
- Candidates (apart from the Student Representative
- who must be a Student or Postgraduate member) must be Professional
members of BASES.
- Candidates must be nominated and seconded by
Professional members.
- Nominations need to be submitted on the
'BASES
Elected Officers 2008-2010 - Nomination Form' and returned to jbairstow@bases.org.uk
by Friday 31 July 2008. This includes a manifesto: (maximum 250
words) - a brief commentary outlining relevant background (skills and
abilities), philosophy, principles and objectives.
