As many will be aware the Government is forcing the regulation of Applied Psychologists by Health Professions Council (HPC). This is currently at the consultation stage prior to the final legislation being drawn up. The initial stage of the consultation related to the threshold education standard for entry to the HPC register. The closing date for this consultation was the 8th Feb, and based on the feedback received from members the BASES Board submitted a response stating our position. The next stage is consultation on the whole legislation document (Health Care and Associated Professions (Miscellaneous Amendments) No 2 Order 2008) and feedback is due by 22nd March.
