BASES Annual Awards

The BASES Annual Awards are an important part of our work in recognising excellence in sport and exercise sciences and exist to reward BASES members who have made outstanding achievements. The awards support the following objectives of BASES - the promotion of research in sport and exercise sciences, the encouragement of evidence-based practice in sport and exercise sciences and the distribution of knowledge in sport and exercise sciences. BASES offers four annual award schemes.

 BASES Undergraduate Dissertation of the Year Award

- for an outstanding undergraduate sport and/or exercise sciences dissertation made by a BASES member who is a final year undergraduate.  

BASES Masters Dissertation of the Year Award

- for an outstanding sport and/or exercise sciences dissertation made by a BASES member who is this calendar year (1 January to 31 December) a UK Masters student.

Professor Tom Reilly Doctoral Dissertation of the Year Award 

- for an outstanding doctoral dissertation made in the area of sport and/or exercise sciences by a BASES member.

BASES Applied Practitioner Awards

- acknowledges outstanding and innovative service delivery in sport and/or exercise science by BASES Accredited Sport and Exercise Scientists.

BASES Conference Awards

The BASES Conference awards seek to reward outstanding contributions to sport and exercise sciences by BASES members. Awards are presented for research (oral and poster) in student and non-student categories.

BASES Student Conference Awards

The BASES Student Conference awards seek to reward outstanding contributions to sport and exercise sciences by BASES members. Awards are presented for research (oral and poster) in separate undergraduate and postgraduate student categories.
