We are seeking to appoint an Academic Associate into our established Performance Analysis group. The group is research active and contributes to academic enterprise, as well as delivering taught modules and projects at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. An holistic view of performance analysis is achieved through the study of sport biomechanics; technique and notational analysis; as well as motor control and learning; injury mechanics, kinesiology and rehabilitation; with a focus on application such that scientific understanding can be translated to generate impact on populations and society.
The Academic Associate post provides an opportunity to combine research with teaching duties. The post is offered as a 0.5FTE teaching contract along with 0.5FTE PhD registration. The position is offered for a period of 5 years to allow for the successful completion of the research programme of work and includes opportunity to undertake a postgraduate certificate in higher education (PGCHE). Teaching duties of the post holder will be in the area of performance analysis. Teaching may include sport and exercise biomechanics, notational analysis, motor control and motor learning, coaching and applied sport science. The research programme will be within performance analysis and is tailored towards gait analysis and movement variability. Background information on the Department. Nottingham Trent University has a long and established history for delivering sport related programmes. The Sport Science department currently comprises 20 academic staff, 10 PhD research students as well as undergraduate (ca. 550 students) and postgraduate (ca. 25 students) cohorts. Recent investments into the department has enhanced our physical resources, research environment and the student learning experience. With bespoke sport management and sport psychology suites, a biomechanics and neuromuscular performance laboratory in the £4m Natural Sciences Research Centre, British Olympic Association approved environmental chamber, recently refurbished performance analysis suite and 3 physiology laboratories, we offer an environment of excellence and invite you to join us.
