Faculty of Science and Technology Institute for Clinical Exercise & Health Science Applications are invited for this new post within the Centre for Clinical Exercise & Rehabilitation at the Institute for Clinical Exercise & Health Science. The appointment will support and lead the research agenda of the institute and will provide teaching support to the MSc and PhD programmes offered by the sport, health and exercise subject development group. The academic and research operations within the institute and group are undergoing a large investment and this is a unique opportunity to become part of a leadership team of a dynamic and expanding research institute.
The Institute for Clinical Exercise & Health Science is a research engine structured around three "pillars" of scholarly focus. The post is housed within the Clinical Exercise & Rehabilitation pillar which focuses on investigating new applications in utilization of exercise for diagnostic, therapeutic and rehabilitative purposes. It is anticipated that the research outputs will specifically address biological and clinical topics of local, national and global interest such as cardiovascular disease, metabolic disease, cancer, dementia, among others. Collaborations are offered with the other two pillars of the institute, the Sport Academy and the Centre for Exercise Wellbeing in the Community. Successful applicants will be expected to undertake internationally excellent research, high quality relevant teaching, appropriate administration and other activities in order to support and develop the academic profile of the Institute, School of Science, and the University. Participation will further be expected in strong leadership in the institute's research grant and knowledge transfer agenda.
