Package Description: The Centre for Sports Studies is seeking to appoint an ambitious and highly motivated Lecturer with a research profile in a discipline within the Sports Sciences. This position which is a fixed term appointment of 3 years is a result of the continued expansion of the department and our ambition to maximise our performance in the next REF. Thus, this post is particularly suitable for an early career research-active academic who is motivated to contribute significantly to both the dynamic teaching and research culture within the department.
Salary From: £31,020
Salary To: £44,166
The successful candidate may be required to contribute to the delivery and development of modules at both undergraduate and postgraduate level. Applications are invited from prospective lecturers with a strong research profile in any of the sport and exercise disciplines. Sports Studies particularly welcomes applications from academics with a strong interest in exercise, psychology and/or health. You will hold a PhD in sport, exercise or health science, or in a similar relevant subject (or be near completion) as well as up-to-date and advanced knowledge of a sports related subject area. Two or more published research papers in high quality peer-reviewed journals from 2008 onwards and the ability to supervise research activities of undergraduate and postgraduate students effectively are also essential to this position. Evidence of the ability to build a profile of distinguished and sustained research excellence would be an advantage.
