We are seeking to appoint a Lecturer / Senior Lecturer in Coaching Science, to contribute to teaching and research quality and to an excellent working atmosphere in the Department of Sport Science. You will deliver undergraduate and postgraduate taught modules, supervise undergraduate and postgraduate projects and contribute to the employability potential of our students. We would welcome strong applications in any area of Coaching Science although your academic discipline background could also be in Sport Psychology, Sport Physiology, the Sociology of Sport or Sport Pedagogy for example. You must be enthusiastic that your major teaching focus will be on our Sport Science and Coaching degree programme.
You will make a significant contribution to the Department’s learning and teaching, research activity and academic enterprise in Coaching Science, although the research could be in a related academic area that is relevant for Coaching. You should be research active and have a PhD. We aspire to submit a high quality entry into the next national Research Excellence Framework exercise. You should be able to contribute to this entry with high quality academic papers, forth-coming papers and by research with societal, sport performance or economic impact. The post-holder will join sport and exercise scientists as well as social scientists in the Sport, Health and Performance Enhancement (SHAPE) research centre. High level mentoring is available for all staff. The start date is as soon as possible.

The Department of Sport Science currently comprises 33 academic staff and ~20 PhD research students as well as large undergraduate and taught postgraduate cohorts.
