The role of the Academy Health and Wellbeing Physiologist is to guide clients through a variety of different health assessments by performing a range of clinical tests covering many aspects of preventative health. Working on a one to one basis you will have the opportunity to use your knowledge and expertise to help individuals achieve the best possible health and wellbeing outcomes.
Within this clinical role you will be expected to maintain the highest clinical standards set within our Fitness and Wellbeing Centres, adhering to corporate clinical governance protocols as well as ensuring the delivery of a high quality service to our clients at all times.
Through interacting with Doctors and key hospital departments you will be able to provide a first class, high quality product. You will be responsible for the operational requirements of the Fitness and Wellbeing Centre which will include the management of client results and the production of a client report.
Academy Health and Wellbeing Physiologist will be required to:
• Conduct clinical tests ranging from measuring cardiovascular risk factors through to advanced interpretation of heart rate variability and posture
• Complete and pass an Intermediate Life Support course
• Complete and pass a Venepuncture course
• Undertake extensive training to conduct sub-maximal V02 max ECG testing
• Provide lifestyle coaching (including fitness, nutrition and stress management advice).

All new recruits will go through a comprehensive on-site and theory based training program to ensure that they are familiar with our products, values and expectations. Part of this training will include the required Venepuncture and Life Support elements.
Candidates must possess:
• A 2nd class degree (minimum) which has covered human physiology, functional anatomy and nutrition. Ideally containing modules in exercise biochemistry, psychology and sports nutrition.
• Post-graduate experience essential (minimum 2 years)- ideally within a commercial/corporate environment
• A passion for preventative health and general wellbeing
• An ability to learn quickly and grasp new concepts
• Excellent organisation skills and IT literacy
• A commitment to continued professional development
• An ability to work independently but at the same time able to interact within a large multidisciplinary team
• Attention to detail and accurate reporting
• Superb communication skills with a healthy, outgoing and enthusiastic attitude to life and work
• Professional attitude, appearance and behaviour appropriate to our corporate clients and clinical settings
All appointments will be subject to enhanced checks through the Criminal Records Bureau.
Academy Health and Wellbeing Physiologists will be eligible to progress into the position of Health and Wellbeing Physiologist once they have met the following criteria:
1. At least 4 months within the team (including a 4 week training camp), and
2. successful completion of an exercise ECG theory exam, and
3. successful probation sign off by Regional Operations Manager and Regional Clinical Lead Physiologist
