Target BASES Membership Categories: Members registered for a PhD or have no more than 3 full year’s post-doctoral experience

Application Closing Date: Deadline for abstract submission

Results Available: At the end of the BASES Annual Conference

A prize of £500 (half cash/half book tokens) to the best oral presentation given by a recently qualified researcher at the BASES Annual Conference.

 Award Criteria

  1. The applicant must be the presenting, and thus first named, author of the abstract.
  2. The applicant must be a member of BASES.
  3. The applicant must be registered for a PhD or have no more than 3 full year’s post-doctoral experience
  4. The abstract must be the only one submitted by the applicant for that award.
  5. The abstract must not be entered for consideration for any other BASES Annual Conference awards.
  6. The award will be given for excellence, reflected in the academic content, presentation and defence quality of the oral presentation.
  7. The Awards Panel's decision is final in all cases.
  8. This award will not be made in the absence of submissions of sufficient merit.
  9. The award panel may choose to shortlist presentations for this award based on the scientific merit of the abstracts and to have the shortlisted presentations in a special oral presentation at the BASES Annual Conference.
