Debbie started on the 1 July 2008 to cover maternity leave for Claire Hitchings. She studied Business at Northumbria University and then worked for British Airways for many years in sales, marketing and project management roles. During this time she was the Sales and Operations Manager for the 2000 Sydney Olympics working very closely with the British Olympic Association.
A few years were then spent living and working overseas teaching scuba diving in tropical waters such as Thailand, Australia and Mexico. A return to the UK saw an involvement in sport again, most recently being based at the English Institute of Sport in Sheffield.
Debbie has taken up sailing, windsurfing and water skiing this year and is wondering what to try next!

Claire took up post as BASES Executive Officer in September 2003. Her former post was Sport Science Manager on the England Netball World Class Performance Plan. She has a PhD in adherence to fitness training adherence amongst high performance team athletes. In 2008 she completed a Masters in Business Administration with the Open University. Jane has worked for BASES for twelve years (Dec 1999). She previously worked at Sports Coach UK (formerly the National Coaching Foundation) as the Senior Administration Officer for the Education and Training Division and provided administrative support for the former Sport Science Education Programme. She previously worked as a PA at Leeds College of Building for the Deputy Principal gaining extensive IT knowledge and organisational/secretarial skills and as a Sales Admin Assistant for the No.1 market leading outdoor advertising company More O'Ferrall Adshel.

Kate joined BASES as Education Officer on 24th November 2008. She studied Sport Science at the University of Brighton, which included a semester at the University of New Brunswick in Canada. Following a year travelling in Australia, Kate worked at Stag Furniture, in Sunderland, as a Graduate Management Trainee resulting in a position as Assistant Brand Manager with the company. Kate now joins us from the Rugby Football League where she worked as Performance Officer, working with elite junior rugby league players.

Marsha is one of BASES part-time administrative assistants (Nov 2005). She has a background in IT and administration mostly in education (University College London, University of Leeds, Trinity and All Saints College and Leeds Metropolitan University), media (BBC, Screen Yorkshire) and the voluntary sector (Carers National Association).
Having lived at the Beckett Park site as a student Marsha is pleased to be back at such a great location.

Jane took up post as a part-time administrative assistant (August 2006) working 10 hours per week. Jane was born a Londoner but raised in East Yorkshire where her jobs varied from Wholesale Florist to Travel Consultant. Jane and her husband moved to Wiltshire in 1998 where they lived for 9 years. Whilst in Wiltshire she developed a career in the NHS building her way up from Administrative Assistant in the Medical Directorate to PA to the General Manager for Medicine so comes to us with extensive administrative skills. In August 2005 Jane and her family relocated from Wiltshire to Leeds and after a year of settling in Jane decided to return to work. The position of part time Administrative Assistant in the BASES office sounded ideal for her abilities and compatible with her family commitments.
