Soft Tissue Biomechanics

BASES Soft Tissue Biomechanics Interest Group

Mission:

Promoting interaction and progression of soft tissue biomechanics within clinical, sport and exercise fields

Objectives:

  • Provide a forum for interaction and evolution of group members
  • Investigate and offer continuing professional development where possible
  • Encourage interaction between group  members, other bases groups and any other non-BASES professional groups where relevant
  • Encourage dissemination of current and relevant research within the field

Relevancy of the Interest Group:

The group provides the opportunity to focus on clinical and functional effects and consequences of imposed demands or influences on soft tissues.  This is directly relevant to both sport, exercise and occupational science as it potentially can explain the results of differing training strategies or exertions from both mechanical and physiological perspectives.
