The  BASES Code of Conduct states that members must ensure that suitable indemnity insurance cover is in place for all areas of work that they undertake. Whilst BASES has encouraged members to have this insurance, BASES cannot accept responsibility for the failure of any member to ensure that this cover is in place. The Code of Conduct also states that sport and exercise scientists must work within their area of expertise, especially in a service or consultancy role where the client’s needs must always be of paramount importance.
